Andy and I are were really excited about 4th of July weekend because he had Friday off which meant a long weekend for us! We decided to pack our gear, pack some food, and head west an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park to camp for the weekend. As we approached the park, the weather took a turn for the worse and we found ourselves driving through rain and slow moving traffic up the mountains. By the time we found a camp site it was still raining and there were no longer any desirable sites available to camp in. Fortunately for us, the sun did come out again and we were able to hike to over 12,000 feet and see some pretty incredible views~so although we didn't get to camp, our trip was not a total loss! We also saw some elk VERY up close. Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful so we were thankful for the time to explore it and we are even more excited to go back again and camp=)
Did the elk/caribou go clippity-clop-clippity-clop?
